Note: We will have a full answer written up by this Sunday - March 13th. We don't have all the answers yet but will by then.

As many of our customers have noticed, YouTube has recently changed how they monitor and restrict mass amounts of emails going out.

Many of our customers have gone days without a single message being able to be sent.

From our early testing we have found that not only has YouTube gotten more restrictive (down to about 150 Messages per day), but once you hit that limit, you must wait a long period of time before sending again otherwise you will run into problems. If you keep retrying every 15 minutes, your account remains in this limbo state where no messages can get sent and this cycle will continue forever and you will never get another message out. Each time you try to send once you've hit your limit, it just extends the amount of time that you need to wait.

The only solution is to wait. Based on our tests, if you wait 24 hours - with NO message sending attempts through YouTube or Tube Toolbox, you can start sending messages again after waiting 24 hours.
During the 24 hours you are not Sending Messages, you can continue Sharing Videos and Sending Friend Requests.

I know it sucks but there is nothing we can do about it.

We are trying to come up with solutions or ways to automate the process. For example, if you haven't gotten a single message our in 1 hour then it means you have hit your daily limit so at that point we have Tube Toolbox wait 24 hours before sending more Messages. We might be able to switch over and send Friend Requests or Share Videos during the period that Messages aren't going out for you automatically.

If anyone has any ideas or feedback, please post it here.

UPDATE: If you are receiving the unknown failure message, it is due to a new message being sent by YouTube when you have too much traffic from your network. We will fix in our next release (due out next week) so that the message is handled like the other too much traffic message, that is, we will wait the retry time and then send again.

I have definately noticed this. Something else i have notice is what seems to be a purposeful downtime in YouTubes message box. Here recently i've been getting repeated "unknown failures" when i check my youtube account i can't get to the inbox. My messages will not show up. I will pause my toolbox, wait for my messages to show up again and then resume the toolbox. I ofthen let the toolbox run and i end up getting the error message after 5 repeated "unknown failures".

FIX: Could toolbox recognize an unknown failure and put a longer send delay and resend to the same user after an hour or so, instead of stopping the entire program?

ALSO: It would be nice if we could "schedule" our bulk message sending. Perhaps put a limit on successful sends and then the toolbox pauses itself after that limit is hit. That may help with the first problem.

randallpstudios - We need your help!

Several people have sent messages regarding the 5 failure unknown showing up after they have been sending for a while. I have contacted people asking them to try again after I placed them in our logging server but no one has responded. I believe what is happening is that YouTube is sending back a new error message that we don't know how to handle. I need someone to run some tests until the 5 unknown errors happen and then we can change our software to look for the new error message from YouTube.

So, I would appreciate it if you emailed us at support@tubetoolbox.com and sent me the user name on your account. I can then add you to our logging server and, hopefully(!), when the 5 failures occur, I can check to see what is going on. The other thing that might tell us something is if you send in your log files (http://www.tubetoolbox.com/logfiles.aspx) when you email me your account. I may be able to see something in your log files.

thanks!

I get the 5 unknown failures right away and I have not used the program in a week. Worked last week...now it does not work at all. All of the accounts I am using are verified and linked to google. I cannot send a SINGLE message anymore!

Okay, we say this all the time, one of these days people will understand :-).

If you send a message manually through YouTube (www.youtube.com), YouTube will display a message of “your message has been successfully sent”. However, unless the message shows up in your Sent Box, it is not actually sent. Our software use to get the message from YouTube and marked the message as being sent. However, after getting complaints from customers that the message was not really being sent, we changed the software to only mark a message as being successfully sent if it shows up in your Sent Box.

Regarding the 5 failures, please review my message to randallpstudios above. We really need someone to follow those instructions. We can't fix the issue unless we have someone help us.

Chuck, i'd be glad to. i'll try to get the log file, i have it running right now. I know last time i sent you a log file it was huge so i'll have to send it through that website you gave me before instead of through my email.

Also, when i get the 5 unknown errors i can't even check my Youtube messages on IE, the inbox just comes up blank. When i can get to my inbox through IE i can also start my toolbox back up. so it's not just tube toolbox, i think it has something to do with youtube timing out their messageing service. But i may be wrong. Just speculations.

and my user name is randallpstudios same as on here.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Now it is saying "Something is preventing Tube Toolbox from performing this function." It says to log in on a browser and send a message. I have done that and they go through and end up in the sent folder....any ideas?

Chuck,

Should we all email support with our username if we want to help with this issue? I am having the same problem as the other posters with not being able to send many messages and it would be great if TT quit or shut down so that we don't get this permanent delay. I sometimes leave my system unattended to run, so can't monitor it when I get the failures.

Also can't update to latest version and sent 2 emails to support but haven't heard back. Know you have your hands full, but just wanted to mention it to see if I can get the manual update files. The auto update hasn't worked for months for me.

BTW I run another program for sending messages on a different account (TubeBlaster), and it's not encountering the same issue as TT. It's like YT has somehow flagged TT.

Thanks,

Natalie

Horseboy - please send me your log files and refer to this forum post

Glitter - regarding Tubeblaster - we also have a copy of Tubeblaster which we immediately tested to see if they have same problem. They do, however they handle messages differently than we do. They actually bring up the YouTube "compose message" screen. After they send a message YouTube sends back a message stating "your message was successfully sent". However, if you look in your sent box, the message is not displayed. We used to work this way but we thought it wasn't really fair to our customers since they get an untrue message and lose out on potentially sending later to those users that did not show up in sent box.

Also, please email us again regarding your install issue and reference this forum post. I just checked my spam folder and there was one email out there but i'm not sure if it was yours.

Chuck, providing I've read it right, you say at the top that it's OK to share videos, but sharing a video includes sending a message and we haven't been able to send video with message for the past 24 hours so I'm guessing it's the same problem as the message sending one? No probs sending bulk friend requests on another account though.

I'll shut the video sending one down for 24 hours and see what happens.

Chuck, it's interesting you say this because I read the forums here when TT started to have this issue and tested in TubeBlaster to see if the theory is right... I am seeing the messages as 'sent' in the sent items box. This one is on a different account mind you, but I can get about 130-150 messages out every other day with success. No doubt about it that YT is restricting, but seems they are doing even more so with TT. This is a shame because hands down you have a far superior piece of software.

Will send the email again. I actually just replied to our long thread of emails, so it's strange you never got it. Then I sent another email from the site a few days ago. Will try again. Thanks! I know you are all working so hard to get this working optimally.

Hi there,

In light of the YouTube restrictions is there a way to automate message sending without ending up limbo? By that I mean is it possible to set Toolbox to wait 24 Hours prior to attempting to send again once the restriction is reached? I checked the settings but from what I can see 240 min is the max for the delay that can be set. I guess other solution would to create separate sending list to which you copy over the 150 users from your main list say Friends and use that separate list for sending. This way Toolbox will stop after 150 users are sent to. But then you'll have to copy the next 150 users and so on which could prove tedious for those with 15000+ Friends, etc. So, again the best thing would be to have Toolbox just to stop and wait for 24 hours in between retries once the restriction is reached. Especially, since I tend to do bulk sending at night while I'm asleep when there is no one to monitor and stop Toolbox from retrying once the restriction is reached. Can admin or anyone else offer some other suggestions on how to best deal with this current, courtesy of Youtube predicament?

I’m eagerly awaiting your thoughts. Thanks,
Tommy

Hey...

I have been following your instructions closely and bought a lifetime subscription... I'm doing the following:

1. my send delay, and wait times are set to a little longer to your recommendations.
2. I have multiple accounts
3. I have a changing IP address
4. Cookies are automatically deleted
5. I dont send from any accounts, including my main account while TT is operating.

And still I can't send as many messages/share video effectively without quite a bit of manual effort on my part.

I'm doing all this just to reach my own friends list!

I'm sure its fine if you have 100 friends but I'm well over 11,000, and I find i have to stop and restart and re-enter when TT it packs it in - I'm able to share my video with under 800 users per day with all of the above running, and lots of manual work from me....

I have also sent support two emails, and received no reply at all?

Can anyone assist me with this? I'm keen to get it up and running on auto as soon as I can.

Thanks!!

So with all of those steps, how many are you getting out each day?

We did find that with Sharing Videos, it wasn't switching accounts when a sending limit was hit - it would keep trying the same account until it worked which is pretty inefficient. That problem has been fixed and will be released with the next version of Tube Toolbox (probably Monday).

What email address are you emailing us from? I don't see anything under ben-sorensen-enterprises.com or bseaustralia.com (hopefully you don't mind me posting those domains - if so, let me know and I will delete them from this thread)

Its taking forever... but I can get out about 1200 a day.. but, like you say, when it hits the limit it doesn't just swap accounts... so it stops. Then I have to restart it all again.

I have also increased the time between sending... from 60sec to 3.14, which seems to delay the "send failure message"

A fix soon would be appreciated... Wouldn't mind the ability to set up multiple tasks either.

And im emailing from one of those 2 addresses... Could it have gone to junk?

Good to hear your onto it!! I'd just like to be able to set it up, and it keep sending till my list is done!!!

Thanks!!
