Now that YouTube has limited the number of friends in the address book (mine is only 3000), is there going to be any workaround for synchronising friends? I have over 40,000 friends and while I don't contact them all I do contact NEW friends sending them an introduction video and encouraging them to subscribe to my channel.
Apart from trying to gather all my own friends is there any solution to this?

I've been at 3000 for a week or so too. I only have about 8,000, but am wondering if I should keep trying to build the list. Was hoping this was all part of a problem with YT, but it's been going on so long it looks more like a change :-(

Thinking the same thing. I have 33g friends who I maintain contact with and now I cant follow up on new ones without being able to sync. Without this feature the software is redundant. Is there any sort of work around for the inability to properly sync your friends?

The work around although by no means perfect or accurate would be to try and gather your own friends and then contact new ones using the list you've created from that That's what I'm going to try although I'm sure I won't be able to gather all 40,000

I agree with 'rye619', with Youtube's restrictions on how many friends we can sync, a program like TubeToolbox is now of little, if any use any longer, sadly. I have over 4,000 friends although I can only apparently reach 3,025. There is little point in me continuing using the software.

I am SOOO disappointed to hear this news. Like George said there is going to be no reason to use this software anymore.
I loved this software so much, it has brought me so much friends, and views and subscribers. But without the friends the views don't come and without the views neither do the subscribers. That was the whole point of using tube toolbox but now that there is a cap on how many friends you can share your videos with, there is no point in using this software, unless you want to make 3,025 friends quickly and keep sharing your videos with those same people.
I did try gathering all my friends and putting them into a list but that didn't work either. It gathered less than half of my friends because YouTube doesn't let you view all your friend pages.
Tube Toolbox Administrators, if you are reading this, I hope that you guys find a lupole or some sort of way to work around this, because I really appreciate this software and wouldn't be where I am today on Youtube without it. But your features are based on collecting and gathering numerous amount of friends in an appropriate way. But only 3,025 friends, that will get you nowhere in the YouTube circuit. To be able to be big, you need lots of friends, lots of views, and lots of subscribers. And since I know that this is not your fault all I can say is that if there will forever be a 3,025 cap, then I will have to stop using tube toolbox because there really is no reason for me to pay anymore to send different messages and videos to the same people and expect different results.
If this is not true please tell me that I'm wrong and that there is a way to share new videos with ALL of your friends, I'd love to hear that. You'd make my dreams come true. But if not, so long tube toolbox. I will miss you.

I guess it doesn't pay to buy a years subscription to any program like this (as i have done) as so much can unfortunately change in a year. It's been a waste of money.

You guys, never mind what I said before, be creative! The whole point of this software is to get subscribers, so think about it... you still can! Don't give up, be creative. And Tube Toolbox please stay strong! Don't close down because of this, I've figured out a way to Tube Toolbox that will still work and get me the results that I was really looking for so give it all up because I really need you!! :)

Don't worry, we will keep evolving and changing to work with YouTube. Remember - 99% of the features in Tube Toolbox come from our customers, so just keep telling us what features would be useful. We are really just programmers and the truth is, we don't even make videos for YouTube. We make software to help you guys out. I thought we might be able to get around the 3k limit by cycling through your list of Friends (i.e. http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=SubscriberTrain&view=friends&start=1020) instead of using the Address Book, but that won't work either because it won't let you go past page 27. @george - We are extremely generous when it comes to payments and refunds, etc. Tube Toolbox has been a very successful product for us and we really try to pass that on to our customers. If (sadly) you want to cancel your Yearly subscription, we will happily refund a pro-rated portion (even though we don't publish that fact in our FAQs). The yearly price is $79.95 which is equal to about 6 months of the Monthly subscription, so if you have used it less than 6 months, we will give you some money back. Question - do you guys get emails each time someone becomes your Friend on YouTube or only when they Subscribe to you? Someone had the idea a while back where you could into your email inside the Tube Toolbox browser and we could screen-scrape Subject-line's and find out who accepted your Friend Requests.

Apparently, it's not an option to get emails when someone becomes your friend. Now I have a question -- if you delete your contacts, will that delete them as friends and/or subscribers? Will it mess something else up? I only message my friends once. So...if I could delete old contacts, and if my new friends are then added as contacts, that might be a workaround. Does that make sense?

However, I'm a musician, and I use Tube Toolbox as a traffic source to direct people to a mailing list signup. I'm not trying to get subscribers -- I'm out to "shake hands" (via friend requests) and send an offer for some free downloads to those who respond positively to the friend request. It takes approximately 20 list signups for me to sell one CD. I really *have* to be able to send messages for this to work for me as a traffic source.

There will definitely be a way around it eventually. It's just a fact of life of using software like this. Maybe YouTube will have a change of heart, from all the threads I've read they seem to pretty quiet. As for TT being useless!!??? What other software could I use to bulk share my new videos with my 3000+ subscribers every fortnight or send out bulk friend requests to targeted channels many of whom subscribe to my channel anyway.
We all have to evolve...

I wonder, with the 27 pages of friends that youtube allows you to see, is it 27 pages of your most recent friends? I have no idea even though that would make the most sense. But say if you already have 20g friends, and then regathered every couplea weeks from the pages of recent friends youtube makes visible to you, then you could just add to your list rather then re syncing all 20g every time and you would only need to see your newest couplea thousand friends anyways because you would just be adding the new recruits thus eliminateing the need to need to delve deep into your friend history to compile your full contact list. This however would only work on the basis that youtube's friends it does allow you to see are the recent additions and not just a random mashup. Even with a random mashup, if there was a feature to auto refresh the mashups and filter out duplicates while compiling your friend list it would still work. Take forever though... I'm not sure I know exactly what to do about this.

@rye16 - from what I remember, it lists Friends in the order of how old their YouTube account it. At least that is how they used to do it. The first page would be people who signed up to YouTube the longest ago. Maybe you could take a screenshot of your first page of Friends, wait until you get least 10 new friends, then compare and let us know if you see a difference?

Been with TTB for two years now with two copies of it. Unfortunately we have now lost interest until such time (if ever) YT change (unlikely) or TTB finds solution (??) Either way, its the back burner for now.

Please review this blog posting to see how to use clean contacts to get the 5,000 contacts most important to you - http://www.tubetoolbox.com/Blog/post/New-Tube-Toolbox-Clean-Contacts-Feature.aspx

Is this an idea. Can I collect my 5000 contacts. And export and save those 5000 contacts to a new list (and call it for example contactlist1). And then delete all my contacts. And collect 5000 more and save those 5000 contacts to a new list (and call it for example contactlist2) And continue..... And then share videos with 10000 contacts by using both lists? Can you do this? Is there a reason why you shouldnt do this?

It makes sense to me and I don't see any reason why it won't work.
Please let us know your results!

Looks like a change in YouTube's site broke the feature. I created a 'beta' version with a fix. Take look here to get it: http://www.tubetoolbox.com/betaprogram.aspx
